WHALES

Whales are mammals. There are two types of whales which are called as “Baleen Whales” and “Toothed Whales”. The Blue whale is the largest animal in the world. In fact, the blue whale is the largest animal. It is larger than dinosaurs. The blue whale is called as a “baleen whale.”

Whales are classified by the style of feeding themselves.  They eat krill ,plankton, fish and small mammals. Whales have to reach the surface of the ocean because they can’t breathe under the water. Whales use the blow-hole which is in the top of their heads  in order to breathe. Some whales can stay underwater for 90 minutes.

The baby whales grow inside the mother whales until they are born. Also, baby whales are taken  care by their mothers until they are grown-up. Whales can swim as fast as 30 miles per hour. Some baleen whales sing. Whales don’t sleep like humans. During resting, they have to take air to not be drowned.
