THE KOALAS

The koalas are cuddly, furry and tail-less animals which live in Eucalyptus forests in Australia.   They are the only marsupials which they don’t have a tail. That is why the koalas are called the Australian bear.   However, they are not a bear. It has got gray furs. The koala has 5 fingers including two opposable thumbs that help the koalas to sweep themselves away from trees easily. They are like vegetarians. Their weight is 5 to 12 kilos and their height is 69 to 79 cm.

They feed themselves with leaves and covers of trees and they eat at nights in general.   They live in 10 to 20 years. They like moving up and down from the trees .The interesting facts about the female koalas are that they carry their babies on the back of their necks.
The zoologists give their group a name called as mobs. Also the zoologists give the females a name called female. As same as the female koalas for males, they call the male koalas as “males”. Finally, The name which is given to a koala baby is Joey.
